Savannah Georgia – Beautiful Week

We left Sunday morning for our week long adventure to Savannah. We could not ask for better weather.

We have stayed at the Savannah South KOA which has been absolutely gorgeous. It wraps itself around a beautiful lake with a bird sanctuary. There are swans, geese, ducks, and some other waterfowl. I have caught several sunrises which have been magnificient.

We rode the Trolley through downtown Savannah, Georgia Monday. The guides were very good telling about the history of the town. The squares are gorgeous with all kinds of flowers, vegetation, water fountains, and benches to just sit down and smell the roses.

We drove by the Wormsloe Historic Site and took pictures in the lane of the Live Oaks. It is truly magnificient.

We toured the St. John the Baptist Cathedral. This is a very ornate and beautiful Cathedral. Pictures can not truly capture it’s beauty.

We loved Forsythe Park and the huge fountain. It was very active with families enjoying the afternoon with their children. People sitting talking enjoying each others company. Others were just going for a stroll.

Tuesday our daughter, her husband and their three children joined us for the week. They stayed in one of the KOA cabins. The cabins were very nice with a living room with a sofa bed, a small kitchen, one bedroom, and a bathroom.

Our son came down Wednesday and stayed in the motorhome with us.

We went to the Pirate’s House restaurant for dinner since the whole family is finally together.

Thursday we went to Tybee Island and enjoyed the beach. The kids had a great time playing in the sand and water.

After playing all day we came back to the campground for dinner. The KOA campground catered dinner for the entire campground. It was delicious. We had all the yummy turkey, ham, dressing, sides, desserts and drinks we could stand.

Friday we went on the Georgia Queen Riverboat for a Santa cruise. The kids got their pictures taken with Santa, got a small gift from Santa, and did lots of Christmas crafts.

This has been a wonderful week with our family together. I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful week also.
